FamilyPoints ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
a) Information You Provide Within the App
FamilyPoints allows families to create and manage activities inside the app. Information stored locally or within the app environment may include:
- Family member names or nicknames
- Tasks, activities, rewards, and points assigned
- App preferences and settings
FamilyPoints may allow users to create or join a family group using a shared code. When a user joins a family, certain information such as tasks, points, and activity may be visible to other members of that family group. This information is used solely to enable app functionality.
b) Automatically Collected Information
When you use FamilyPoints, we may collect limited, anonymized usage data, including:
- Device type and operating system version
- App version
- Screens viewed and features used
- General interaction events (for example, task creation or paywall display)
- Anonymous device identifiers generated for analytics purposes
We use third-party analytics and advertising measurement providers, including PostHog (analytics), Meta Platforms, Inc., and TikTok (advertising measurement), to collect usage data.
This data:
- Is not linked to your real identity
- Is not used for advertising
- Is not used for cross-app tracking
- Is used solely to improve app functionality and user experience
We do not collect sensitive personal data such as real addresses, phone numbers, financial details, health data, or government identifiers.
2. How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- Operate and maintain FamilyPoints
- Enable core app features (tasks, rewards, activity tracking)
- Understand how users interact with features
- Improve functionality and performance
- Fix bugs and technical issues
- Monitor app stability and reliability
We also use this information to enable shared family features, including synchronizing data between family members within the same group. We use Meta's and TikTok's SDKs to measure the effectiveness of our app install campaigns. This may involve the collection of your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) if you grant permission via the App Tracking Transparency prompt.
3. Children's Privacy
FamilyPoints is designed for family use and may be used by children under parental supervision.
- Parents or guardians are responsible for creating and managing family content within the app
- We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children beyond what is necessary to operate app features
- We do not allow children to submit personal contact information
If you believe a child has provided personal information outside the intended use of the app, please contact us. Parents or guardians are responsible for managing access to family groups and ensuring that only appropriate individuals join using family codes.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. Information entered in the app may be shared with other members within the same family group when users choose to join or create a family. Users are responsible for sharing their family code only with trusted individuals.
We may share limited data only with:
- Trusted service providers, including analytics providers (PostHog), advertising measurement providers (Meta Platforms, Inc. and TikTok), AI providers (Google Gemini, when you use AI Judge), and infrastructure providers, who process data on our behalf
- Legal authorities if required by law
All service providers are required to comply with applicable data protection standards.
5. AI Judge (Optional Feature)
FamilyPoints includes an optional feature called AI Judge that lets you send a photo or enter text to receive an analysis or verdict generated by artificial intelligence.
When you use this feature, the photo or text you choose to send is transmitted securely to our systems and then to the AI provider Google Gemini, operated by Google, solely to generate the requested result.
FamilyPoints does not store photos or text submitted to AI Judge in its databases. This data is used only while processing your request and is not used for advertising, tracking, or profiling.
Photos may be resized or compressed before sending to limit the amount of data transmitted.
Data sent to AI Judge is not intentionally linked to your identity. FamilyPoints does not include your name, email address, or other personal identifiers with the photo or text for the purpose of Google identifying you.
6. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information. However, no digital system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as necessary to provide the service and improve the app.
You may request deletion of your data by contacting us.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (including the European Union and other regions with data protection laws), you may have the right to:
- Access your data
- Request correction
- Request deletion
- Object to processing
- Withdraw consent

9. Tracking and Advertising
FamilyPoints uses Meta's and TikTok's SDKs solely to measure app install campaign performance. If you grant permission via the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt, your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) may be collected and shared with Meta and TikTok for this purpose.
You can withdraw this permission at any time in your device Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. If you deny permission, the app functions fully without restriction.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted here with a revised "Last updated" date.

Terms of Service

By downloading or using FamilyPoints, you agree to these Terms of Service.
1. Use of the App
FamilyPoints is provided for personal, non-commercial family use.
You agree to:
- Use the app respectfully
- Not misuse or attempt to disrupt the service
- Not use the app for illegal or harmful purposes
2. Accounts & Families
- Families are managed by a parent or guardian
- You are responsible for all activity within your family group
- You agree that tasks, points, and rankings are for motivational purposes only
3. Subscriptions & Payments
FamilyPoints may offer paid features via in-app subscriptions.
- Payments are handled by Apple App Store
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID settings
We do not manage payments directly.
4. Intellectual Property
All content, branding, design, and software related to FamilyPoints are owned by us. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the app without permission.
5. Disclaimer
FamilyPoints is a motivational and organizational tool.
- We do not guarantee behavior changes
- Rankings and points are symbolic and for encouragement only
- We are not responsible for family disputes or outcomes related to app usage
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, FamilyPoints shall not be liable for:
- Loss of data
- Loss of points or progress
- Indirect or incidental damages
7. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access if these terms are violated.
8. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app means acceptance of the updated terms.
